Lighter Blue

Lighter Blue was a campaign of 20 spots highlighting the symptoms of depression. Global Mechanic asked me to bring an existing character to life in animation. This campaign was awarded a Silver Lion at Cannes.

Brintellix had previously commissioned a series of single-panel cartoons to help patients understand the different ways their depression could manifest itself. The illustrations were so successful they decided that animating the concepts would be a great next step.

Working with existing designs and color palettes, Steve Vitale and I animated these spots, making an effort to capture the inventiveness and uniqueness of the characters in their movements.
