The client was looking for a clean and colorful style, which was addressed by using a combination of 2D animation and Cel-shaded 3D animation to create a series of examples of the various home automation technologies available. I'm particularly happy with how the various split screens keep the frame dynamic and advance the narrative throughout the spot.
The combination of techniques also allowed us to do some fun stylized animation, like the sprinkler system turning on, and the 1970 Buick Riviera that drives into the garage at the end.
