This is a pitch piece created with Global Mechanic to sell a show about a girl who lives in a New Orleans Hotel with her grandfather - he's a jazz musician who hosts a variety of musical acts in the lobby every evening.

Artists at Global Mechanic created the gorgeous backgrounds and design world of Jam Hotel and asked me to storyboard and animate this sizzle reel to help market the show (which was eventually sold to Netflix). It was a fun challenge to work so closely to a beat track - there was a real need to keep a lot of the animation syncopated to the music. It was also great to work in such a graphic style - I'm particularly pleased with the animation on Otis the Elevator.
Sizzle reels like this are fun because, while they inform and set the tone for a production, are usually never seen by the show's audience despite their influence on the overall style.
